Prerequisite: Student MUST have completed either our CCW Prep Course or CCW Course.

This course is designed for those who are confident in their pistol shooting skills and have completed a basic CCW/Defensive Handgun course. This course builds on those basic skills taught in our CCW Prep and CCW Course, introducing students to more advanced techniques for engaging targets in defensive pistol situations.

The course begins with a review and application of basic defensive pistol techniques

• presenting
• malfunctions
• tactical and emergency reloads
• marksmanship

Speed will be emphasized – holster to target, correct malfunctions, and reload. Students will then be presented the following:

• “Sul” carry
• Close contact defense
• Facing drills (left, right, 180)
• Kneeling
• Prone
• Shooting from cover
• Room entry/clearing room
• Shooting while moving to/from target
• Shooting while moving left/right of target

Required Equipment:

• Personal self-defense pistol
• Pistol holster – Outside Waistband holster with retention only. No nylon/leather one-size-fits-all holsters, No leg, shoulder, inside waistband, ankle holsters. The holster must be made for your gun.
• At least 3 magazines, more is better.
• Magazine holster
• Sturdy belt
• 200 rds of ammunition
• ONE DUMMY ROUND!!!
• Electronic hearing protection is MANDATORY! This is for the protection of all participants. (You can rent for $10)
• Eye protection (wrap around only)
• Hat

Recommended Equipment

• Knee and elbow pads (You’ll be dropping to asphalt when moving to the kneeling and prone)
• Back up pistol with magazines
• Magazine loader
• Chair
• Water
